UNTITLED BOOK CLUB - Bi-weekly reading group at DO NOT START on Godfrey SW (free to members, $5 for non-members). We take selections from their lending library and remove all identifying marks. Then we read a selection of essays or short stories, and discuss them the following session. Attendees are encouraged to suggest or bring their own "stripped" literature and reasons for selection. The goal is to see if the stories or concepts are understandable and meritorious when marketing blurbs, celebrity status, and/or preconceptions are removed. Also to get people reading, which has been one of the most significant human activities ever since Gutenberg gave us the printing press.

BYOB. Coffee/tea, snacks and water provided. We can all go in on a pizza or something if that's your bag.

Otherwise, show up and read with strangers until they are no longer strangers, and stretch your brain in odd directions. Every other Monday at 6pm starting in December.

ALL THE YOUNG NUDES (US) - Bi-weekly Life Drawing class at DO NOT START on Godfrey Street. Paper and pencils/charcoal provided, or bring your medium of choice. Always looking for models, so if you know anyone that likes to lounge around naked in odd poses please have them contact us. All art levels welcome. Even if you've never held a pencil, it's a nice excuse to get out of the house and practice some untapped skills, and there will be drinks and cheese and music, plus the chance to meet other people who like drawing naked people. $15 for non-members, $10 for members. Every other Thursday from 6pm onwards starting in December.

SALAD CALENDAR - WORKSHOP & LARGE EVENTS SPACE - Weird wedding? Fundraiser? Want to teach a class? Have a quinceañera coming up? Need to host a large meeting or game night? Big-ass art installation? Salad Calendar has you covered. Roughly 3000 square feet of customisable space for whatever it is you need that much space for. Competitive rates and coordinated service to make sure your thing is a roaring success. Or at least very enjoyable. We ensure your thing happens. Definitely.

The Wall on THE WALL - You like movies, right? You even like going to the movies, except that it now costs roughly the same as your rent in 2001. DO NOT START members can enjoy not one but TWO movies every Wednesday on the giant wall at the back of the warehouse absolutely free. Because we're all just hanging out and watching a movie, which is something people used to do socially, and you get to help choose what we watch at our monthly Member Selection Night. $10 donation for non-members, but that's still a radical discount compared to the usual cost of a night out, and you can bring drinks if you like. Snacks and (microwave) popcorn on hand. BYOC (bring your own chair) if you have a comfy camp chair kicking about, otherwise we have many to choose from (but not too many, so bring one if you have one). Pretend it's a friend's house and bring that energy. We will provide the films. You provide the audience. Full list of upcoming double-features here.

SERFS UP! AUTONOMOUS SPACE - "Do you ever get the feeling that everything in America is completely fucked up?" (As Christian Slater famously intoned in the 1990 classic Pump Up the Volume). Are you tired of the confusion and general anxiety that fuels most of our daily lives? Do you want to do something different? Do you want to talk about it to someone that's not a paid therapist? Are you just looking for explanations or a way out? It's all about perspective, and it's hard to find truly alternative ones from inside the Spectacle. Serfs Up! Is your one-stop shop (just kidding; it's free) for all your Euro/socialist/anarchist/precariat/autonomist/Marxist/Situationist/Jeffersonian/etc information and discussion, and a workshop for collective action that might actually make you feel a sense of accomplishment or pride instead of just shouting into the same abyss we're all staring into. Come let your hair down (if you have hair) and remember that life is the thing we're living, not the thing you do after work.

Current full list here, all available for lending to DO NOT START members. Tool library coming in December for project-oriented people that just need a drill or an air compressor or whatever. Comfortable space for either reading said books or using said tools, if your home/garage does not suit for some reason. Donations of either books or tools always graciously accepted, and we will put them into circulation so they never fall out of use. Happy to come collect.
